The european Union has approved the registration of two new products from Italy and the United Kingdom in the register of protected geographical indications (PGI).<\/span> <\/span><\/h5>\n
For Italy, it is the “Burrata di Andria”, a cheese made from cow’s milk with rounded shape produced in the region of Puglia, in the south of the country. One of the first references to the product dates back to 1931 in a tourist guide. <\/span><\/h5>\n
For the UK, it is “Vale of Evesham Asparagus”, a green asparagus grown in the districts of Malvern Hills, Wychavon and Stratford-upon-Avon in the Evesham valley in England. Evesham is the only urban center in the UK to house an asparagus field and the importance of this vegetable is so great for the region that a festival is dedicated to it each year. <\/span><\/h5>\n
These two new names will reach more than 1370 products already protected.
