The UK\u2019s vote to leave the European Union has brought renewed calls for clarity on the likely consequences for the country in the years ahead, and on 30th of June, just one week after the referendum, Europe House was delighted to host a seminar on this topic in Smith Square with Nuffield College Oxford.<\/h5>\n
The discussion, titled \u2018Britain’s European vote: The outcome and implications of the UK referendum on European Union membership\u2019, was chaired by Bill Emmott, a former editor of The Economist, and it brought together a stellar panel of academics to offer their views on various aspects of the vote.<\/h5>\n
Debate covered the impact on international trade, economic performance, domestic party politics and the future direction of the Union and the European project.<\/h5>\n
The audience of invited guests, Nuffield College alumni and members of the public completely filled the conference room and added their voices to the debate with a range of stimulating questions to the panellists after the main discussion.<\/h5>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
