The European Union has today proposed to review certain provisions of the Common Agricultural Policy, aiming to deliver simplifications while maintaining a strong, sustainable and competitive policy for EU agriculture and food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These proposals, related to conditionality and CAP strategic Plans, aim to reduce the burden related to controls for EU farmers, and provide them with greater flexibility for complying with certain environmental conditionalities. National administrations will also benefit from greater flexibility to apply certain standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposal strikes the right balance between the necessity to maintain the CAP’s role in supporting the transition of European agriculture to more sustainable farming, the expectations of farmers and Member States, and the objective to reach a quick agreement between the European Parliament and the Council<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
