Culture grows through comparison: through the ability to ask questions, listen to different points of view, and explore more deeply the issues that shape our society.
It is in this spirit that “Ideas & Thought” was born: a series of meetings dedicated to culture, knowledge, and reflection on the major issues of our time. A space where knowledge is not seen as something distant or abstract, but as a tool for better understanding reality and developing greater individual and collective awareness.
Held in Italy, the meetings brought a range of diverse yet deeply interconnected themes to the heart of the discussion: Italian and European identity, immigration and integration, the relationship between culture and society, history and the role of Institutions.
A look at Europe and the territory
The journey began with the meeting “European Identity and Migration Policies” featuring the participation of psychologist Alessandro Meluzzi
The initiative was born from the desire to bring back to Italy a discussion on same of the major issues facing contemporary society, from immigration and the family to questions concerning the territory and local communities.
The approach starts from the major transformations taking place in society while keeping the local dimension at its center. Understanding what is happening in the world also means asking how these changes affect our communities, our identity, and our way of life.
Culture and Identity – One of the central themes of the series is Identity
In collaboration with the actor and director Edoardo Sylos Labini, Fabrizio Bertot, the President of Ki An Foundation, presented the event “Gabriele d’Annunzio, symbol of culture and identity of a people”.
Through the figure of the poet, writer, and protagonist of Italian history, the meeting offered an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of culture and identity, exploring the relationship between memory, belonging, and the development of a collective consciousness.
Knowing in order to understand – The series also addressed more contemporary and complex topics
“The Vatican is still a state run by men” offered an opportunity to explore the functioning of the Holy See and the dynamics underlying its economic and administrative structures.
The evening’s guest was Francesca Immacolata Chaouqui, author of In the Name of Peter and a former member of COSEA, the papal commission established to oversee the economic and administrative reorganization of the Holy See.
The aim was not simply to recount a story, but to provide the audience with the tools to understand a complex reality through the direct experience of someone who had witnessed it from within.
The great issues facing society
Another event placed one of the most debated issues of recent years at the center of the discussion: “Is integration the solution or the problem?”
With journalist and writer Magdi Cristiano Allam, the discussion examined the question of integration in Italy and Europe, exploring different concepts, models, and perspectives.

Culture, in this sense, becomes a tool for interpreting the present and understanding the past, while also imagining the future.
