From 21 to 27 June 2023, a delegation of five staff members from the Italian no-profit organisation Ten For Sustainability travelled to Brussels to take part in a structured training course “Sustainability from Europe to Community and Around” hosted by Ki An Asbl

The training aims to support a personal and professional development of Ten for sustainability’s staff and strengthening the quality and impact of its training and awareness-raising activities.

The mobility project, which ran from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023, focused on developing a stronger European perspective on sustainability and lifelong learning. The training encouraged participants to connect local actions with the wider European context, approach social and personal challenges from a European perspective, and strengthen awareness of the importance of unity and solidarity in addressing common challenges such as climate change and its impacts.

A key part of the learning experience was the opportunity to visit several important European institutions and landmarks in Brussels, including the Parlamentarium, the European Parliament, the House of European History, the Citizens’ Garden, the Berlin Wall and Station Europe.

These visits provided participants with first-hand insight into the European Institutions, their functioning and their role in shaping the European environmental sustainability agenda.

The mobility was an enriching opportunity for Ten for Sustainability’s staff to gain new knowledge, exchange perspectives and strengthen their European competences. The experience will contribute to the organisation’s future training and awareness-raising activities for citizens, communities, institutions, companies and other stakeholders, helping to promote sustainability and active European citizenship at the local level
