Project Summary
The project promotes the exchange of good practices in adult education, focusing on transformative learning, environmental sustainability and climate change as powerful drivers for personal, social and community development.
The project addresses a growing European challenge: socio-economic, cultural and digital inequalities can create barriers to lifelong learning, particularly for low-skilled and low-qualified adults, ageing populations and communities facing limited opportunities and reduced resilience. At the same time, climate change and increasing environmental challengess are affecting communities across Europe, making education for sustainable development an increasingly important tool for building awareness, resilience and active participation.
Through transnational cooperation, the project brings together partners from different European contexts to identify, exchange and adapt innovative educational practices that can motivate adults who may feel excluded, discouraged or distant from lifelong learning. Particular attention is given to experiential and knowledge-based approaches, designed to make learning more flexible, creative, participatory and relevant to learners’everyday lives.
The project also explores the role of cultural heritage, local knowledge and European cultural diversity in supporting sustainable development and creating meaningful learning opportunities. By connecting environmental awareness, cultural heritage and adult education, the project aims to strengthen educators’ competences and develop approaches that can be transferred and replicated in different communities and contexts.
The transnational dimension is central to the project. Sharing experiences and methodologies across countries allows partners to improve existing practices, develop more effective educational approaches and maximise their impact beyond the local level.
Ultimately, the project seeks to contribute to more inclusive, resilient and sustainable communities, where adult education can become a catalyst for lifelong learning, personal development, social inclusion and active participation in addressing Europe’s environmental and socio-economic challenges.
